The Opening Reception will take place at Übersee-Museum Bremen (Overseas Museum). Opened in 1896 and located directly beside Bremen Central Station, the museum is one of Bremen’s landmark cultural institutions. Across more than 10,000 square metres, it brings together collections on cultural history, trade and natural history in an exhibition concept notable for its diversity. Covering all five continents, the extensive collection includes historic animal dioramas from the 19th century, a dinosaur skeleton and immersive reconstructions of global environments.
In line with its mission to preserve natural and cultural heritage for future generations, the museum also engages openly with its own colonial past. Its permanent exhibition combines historical collections with interactive and digital elements, inviting visitors to explore the displays through multiple perspectives and senses.
We invite you to discover this special venue during our Opening Reception. Food and drinks will reflect Bremen and northern German culinary traditions in a contemporary conference format. Guests can look forward to a varied selection of finger food, including vegetarian and vegan options as well as fish and meat dishes. The reception will also feature wines from the historic Bremer Ratskeller, alongside beer, non-alcoholic drinks and northern German spritz variations. During the reception, guided tours will be offered to selected parts of the museum, including the Übermaxx collection storage area and the Americas section. A children’s creative workshop will also be available for younger guests.
How to get there:
If you are arriving from the Workshop and Tutorials at the University of Bremen, please take the tram 6 to Bremen Central Station (approximately 15min) and walk from there straight to the Overseas Museum (approximately 1min)

The Conference Banquet will take place at the Weserstadion, the legendary home of SV Werder Bremen and one of Bremen’s most recognisable venues. Located directly on the banks of the River Weser and close to the city centre, the stadium combines football history, modern hospitality areas and a distinctive Bremen atmosphere.
Home to one of Germany’s most traditional football clubs, the Weserstadion seats more than 42,000 fans and is instantly recognisable by its four floodlight masts. On match days, supporters arrive by foot, bicycle, public transport and even by boat. The stadium also reflects a forward-looking approach to infrastructure: its integrated solar architecture was recognised with the German Solar Prize.
During the Conference Banquet, participants will come together in the VIP areas for an evening of food, drinks, conversation and exchange. The banquet will follow an open hospitality concept for a large international conference audience. Guests can expect flying starters, live cooking and chef-served food stations and sweet options, including a live waffle station.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet B-Human, the RoboCup team of the University of Bremen and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). With twelve world championship titles and fifteen regional championships, B-Human brings together two central themes of the evening: Bremen’s football culture and cutting-edge AI and robotics research.
How to get there:
Public transport from the Congress Centrum Bremen / Hauptbahnhof-Nord/Messe to the Weserstadion takes approximately 25 minutes. Take tram line 6 or 8 to Domsheide, then change to tram line 3 towards Weserwehr and get off at Weserstadion. From there, the stadium is about a 5-minute walk.

The Student Reception will take place at Alte Werft, a distinctive event venue in Bremen’s Überseestadt harbour district. Set in a former industrial environment, the venue combines maritime references, weathered materials, rustic surfaces, shipping containers, upcycled design and modern event infrastructure.
The main hall is built around a large central bar and several distinct areas, including deck-like spaces, seating corners, converted containers and a ball pit. Instead of a formal reception setting, the venue offers room to move around, discover different parts of the hall and spend the evening in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Food and drinks will follow the same informal approach. Guests can expect local beer from Bremen, casual catering with options such as currywurst, including vegan alternatives, as well as popcorn, ice cream and kiosk-style treats. A DJ and photo booth will add to the atmosphere and give the evening a relaxed, informal character within the IJCAI-ECAI 2026 social programme.

Public transport from the Congress Centrum Bremen / Hauptbahnhof-Nord/Messe takes approximately 15 minutes. Take tram line 5 towards Überseestadt/Gröpelingen and get off at Bremen Europahafen.

The Old Town Hall was built in the Gothic style in the early 15th century and later renovated in the Weser Renaissance style.
The lunch will be held in the Upper Town Hall, one of the building’s most impressive ceremonial rooms. The hall is known for its historic artworks, rarities and hanging ship models, and has hosted the traditional Bremen Schaffermahl since 1545.
Guests can expect a three-course lunch in an elegant setting and wines from the Bremer Ratskeller. Located beneath the Town Hall, the Ratskeller is one of Germany’s oldest wine cellars and is known for its extensive selection of German wines.
